Last Sunday I went with my mom, my nephews, and their Grandpa Jaun to Henry Cowell Redwood State Park and Roaring Camp. The main goal was to "hike" (or rather walk a very flat and well cleared path) through the redwood forest and also look around Roaring Camp (no train rides this time). Although the hiking portion was a fairly short 1.5 miles, about half the way into it, Isaiah (pictured as the sheriff below) decided his feet hurt and didn't want to walk anymore. We heard the phrase, "Ya Ya, mah feet huht" at least 1,000 times (fyi- "Ya Ya" is my nephews code for Grandma Rhonda, with "Na Na" being their Grandma Nubia...they came up with that on thier own when they started to talk...little kid logic, go figure...). After a little coaxing with the promise of candy upon returning to the car, Isaiah decided to finish walking back. Here are some photos from the day.
This photo has nothing to do with the forest... I just thought I'd throw it in because I liked the contrasting red and blue. I took this photo at a company event we had last Friday. This happens to be a picture from our pie eating contest! (yes, I was paid to watch people eat pie, don't you wish you were me!)
